About our blog

What will our blog be about? How is it organized? What can you find there?
Let us tell you everything!
Fornasetti

It has surely happened to you that when looking at a painting you thought of a passage from a book, a poem, or a myth. And conversely, because literature and painting are linked, painters and writers have very often created on similar themes or they have inspired each other.
Let us think of "Salomé" by Gustave Moreau, a painting inspired by the passage of the Bible Mt 14,6-11 where Salomé dances in front of Herod, charmed, he promises her everything she desires, under the influence of her mother she will claim the head of John the Baptist. Or even in the field of sculpture the famous sculpture of Canova illustrating the psyche reanimated by the kiss of love. In short, art and literature regularly inspire each other.
The subject of our blog is to choose various interesting general themes, broad terms, names of phenomena, etc… and to describe them through an artistic way. It is in this sense that, for me, our blog is quite creative, because it will not be a blog where we share our life - experience but a blog where we will mix various types of arts.
Moreover, it also allows for total freedom of thought! It is creative in the sense that the connections between artworks are made by the bloggers, and this is what also constitutes the identity of our blog. Feel free to interact as well by posting ideas, comments, your own ideas of links between different artworks, so that everyone can share and discover new things. The aim of our blog is also to create a real place of exchange, so that art can flow and continue to exist thanks to you.
For example, we can take the term “nostalgia”.
What is nostalgia? How was it illustrated by painters and writers? What painting makes us think of this theme and what literary work is the illustration.
Here, we are going to present in a few words the definition of this word, when it was first introduced, and add a painting of a representation of what we call nostalgia. The paintings will be used to tell a bit of history and to add an aesthetic touch to the post and to the blog. Then, to complete the article, we are going to talk about literature in relief of nostalgia.
This blog is therefore intended for people who love art (literature and painting, among others), and who are curious by nature.
To navigate in our blogosphere you have to take with you your curiosity and your open-mindedness.
You will find 7 that we will come regularly to complete. We would be very happy to share with you in the comments. We will be happy to read your reactions and your ideas for links between literature and painting.
We hope you will enjoy traveling through our universe in the company of great artists.

    1. Hello Nina! We are mainly going to talk about painting and literature on this blog cause these are our favourite types of art, however we might explore a little bit and discuss other forms of art because discovering new things is always exciting!
Unfortunatly some tools are automatically in French as this blog is linked to our gmail accounts (which are French ones). We are aware of that little language issue and we will fix it if it's possible.
